Fun with Colors! Now that I am home from ASU and my family has been away at work/school, I have had a lot of time by myself around the house. But do not pity me, because I do not know boredom and enjoy this afternoon solitude. I manage to entertain myself quite nicely, and the best way to do this is to make projects for myself. Now, I don't have the skill or finess to make a flower light, but I did try my hand at making the world (my house) a more beautiful place. After that introduction, let me continue with a second. My brother, Dan, is 17 at the time of this writing. He is a man to the core loving cars, red meat, women, steak, sports, hamburgers, and his own facial hair. Being 17, he lives at home, and being 17 he goes to school from 7 to 3 (7 to 5 if you count tennis practice). The signifcance of this you ask? Well, I decided, with the help of my visiting cousin, that his light blue room sucked. So we went out to the local hardware store and picked out the most intense and unmanly paint color sold in Wisconsin, Dark Lavender. At this point I will break from the story for a visual aid.
There's not too much more the be said about this event, the rest is just filler. I didn't realize how hard it would be to take off his wallpaper border and the glue behind it - the painting ended up taking from about 7:30 until 4:30 (and Becky helped for the entire afternoon). He was really anger about it when he first saw my improvements, but since then he has seen my vision. Not really, but he stopped threatening me at least. My parents both found it to be outrageous but funny, an appropriate response.
